Easter is nearly here! It sort of snuck up on us this year, so if it’s also taking you a bit by surprise don’t forget to make your reservations for brunch or dinner! As always, reservations at Bayside can be made by going to Reservations on our website homepage, directly through OpenTable, or by giving us a call at (239) 649-5552. Brunch is served from 11am to 2pm, and our regular menus will be available throughout the day.
For good reason, our upstairs dining rooms and upper deck and bar, with their glorious ambience and stunning views, get a lot of attention. The dining is memorable, the atmosphere is refined but welcoming, and for many of our guests it’s their go-to destination in town.
If you’re an upstairs regular but perhaps it’s been a while since you joined us downstairs, we’d encourage you to revisit Bayside’s Café. The food is just as good – after all, Chef Abel oversees the entire restaurant, top to bottom. But the menu is a little more casual, perfectly suited to a quick, impromptu dinner out, maybe a late afternoon snack or early dinner after a day of shopping at Venetian Village, or a quick bite on your way home from a movie or cocktail party.
The Café opens each day at 2pm and our menu of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees is available through to close. Come see another side of Bayside!
Sukie’s Wine Shop News
Sippin’ Saturdays are still underway, through to April 9! From 2 to 5 pm, each Saturday, three wines are offered for complimentary sampling. From week to week, wines offered may include both U.S. and international production, reds, whites, and sparklers, and are likely to feature some names you may not be overly familiar with but that Sukie is hopeful you will like!
The schedule of dates, which includes the wines being poured each week, is available on our website.
Chefs Abel and Luis weigh in on some of Bayside’s most popular menu items, and what makes them great!
“Wow,” is usually the response after the first taste of Bayside’s Calamari. A combination of a well-fried batch of Calamari rings and fabulous sauce made “a la minute” for each individual order.
The Bayside Calamari is differentiated by its sauce – olive oil, Tuscan Red Peppers, red onions and garlic. These are all sautéed to develop the flavors and then combined with fresh butter and arugula. The mixture is tossed, seasoned and is now ready to become the base for the crisp calamari rings.
The combination of tastes and textures is unique and intriguing. This is not your standard fried calamari that you see in so many restaurants! There is a hint of vinegar in the peppers that combines with the butter and oil and fills each bite with extraordinary flavors.
It is a great appetizer if you are hungry and have a good appetite or perfect for the table to share. Or combine that with a small salad for a light dinner, and accompanied by a glass of crisp, cold white wine and Bayside’s views one is easily transported to another world!
