Thank you!
![]() A big thank you from all of us at Bayside to all of you who helped make this another successful winter season! Thank you for helping us to celebrate our big 25th anniversary, as well. It’s always a little bittersweet for those of us who work in the restaurant business to see the end of season.
While we’re all ready for a little breather, we quickly come to miss the energy and buzz of February or March. On the other hand, we’re also looking forward to having the chance to catch up with more of our year-round guests who enjoy the summer breezes on the upper deck and ample parking. To those of you who have relocated back north for a few
months, we are happy to stay in touch with you over the
summer, and can’t wait to see you again come fall!

Restaurant Week Comes to Bayside!
![]() For many of you who spend at least part of the year elsewhere, you may be familiar with the concept of Restaurant Week, which has flourished in countless cities around the country, offering tantalizing prix-fixe dining opportunities at the upper echelon of local restaurants. Naples’s very own Restaurant Week debuted last fall, and Bayside is pleased to announce we are participating in the upcoming installment, May 5-15. Chef Abel is hard at work on our menu, which will be offered at $35 for three courses, and meeting the typical standard of excellence you know and expect from Bayside. Make your reservations today!

Menu Highlights
Chefs Abel and Luis weigh in on some of Bayside’s most popular menu items, and what makes them great! This edition highlights a new dish making its debut on the upcoming Restaurant Week menu:
Writing menus can be a fun process: start with an idea, add classic and complementary food to enhance the taste and texture and, voila, there you have it! For our Restaurant Week menu, featured between May 5 and May 15, 2016, we’re offering a few of our tried and true favorites as well as something new: a blackened grouper prepared New Orleans style.
This was one of those dishes that came together easily – all the flavors just work. Take a great fillet of fresh grouper and lightly blacken. Now, what tastes to bring it all together? Grits are a great match for the southern-style grouper – and a little cheddar cheese adds another taste dimension and also calms down the heat of the blackening spices.
Finish with a garnish of fried green tomatoes. Their tartness and crisp texture are the perfect match for the grits and the grouper. All of this is tied together with a spicy New Orleans Remoulade.
Come visit us during Restaurant Week and give our blackened grouper with cheddar grits and fried green tomatoes a try – if you like it enough be sure to tell your server, maybe it’ll just make it into regular rotation!

Around Bayside: Meet Jennifer Shreve
When we told Jennifer Shreve, Manager and Function Coordinator at Bayside, that we wanted to write about her in this newsletter, her response was, “That is nice of you to feature me!” That sums up Jennifer in a nutshell – always happy to help, and always appreciative.
![]() After graduating from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA in 1986 with a degree in Hotel Restaurant Management, Jennifer was hired by the Marriott Corporation, and went on to work at the Marriott on Marco Island and the Marriott on Biscayne Bay in Miami, FL. She then spent 9 years working alongside her family as owner and operator of a small pizza and pasta restaurant. Jennifer first joined the Bayside family in 1997, and except for one year spent helping to open up a restaurant for another local company, has been with us ever since.
Jennifer has been instrumental in building Bayside’s reputation as a go-to spot for special occasions and large parties. In the height of season, she is always in the midst of planning and executing, sometimes simultaneously, a wide variety of events throughout Bayside, from birthday and anniversary celebrations, to large corporate gatherings, to wedding parties. Jennifer prides herself on the personal touch she lends her events, meeting personally with all clients to get a feel for what they are like and what exactly they are looking to do for their special event. In her words, “I help them personalize things and do a lot of special things for them…. A lot of our customers are regulars for many years and appreciate the extra help. Some are from out of town and need extra help and extra touches.”
In her spare time, Jennifer loves traveling with her family to Montana in the summertime, and enjoys checking out the local dining scene during off-season when her schedule permits, as she puts it, “to decompress after a busy season and gear up for another!”
